Custom Dolls

Custom orders are now open! You can find the option to create a custom doll with me in my Etsy shop.

Here's the description:

For your custom doll, you can choose:

1) Type of doll from Girl, Mermaid, Witch, Cyclops, Demon, Alien, Vampire, and Banshee.

2) What outfit or combination of clothes you want her to wear from the following:

Girl: Shirt, Skirt, short boots

Mermaid: Crop top

Witch: Witch Hat, Witch Dress, Boots

Cyclops: Blouse, shorts, shoes

Demon: Tank top, mini skirt, long boots

Alien: T-shirt, capris, shoes

Vampire: Shift dress, jacket, boots

Banshee: Short Top, Long Skirt, Boots

3) What color or patterns you want the clothes in.

4) What color yarn hair and whether you would like acrylic or cotton yarn for the hair, as well as styles of hair from long, pigtails, or short.

5) Skin tone color for the Girl and Mermaid. Witches will be green, Cyclops will be light Pink, Demons will be red, Aliens will be purple, Vampires will be white, and Banshees will be light blue.

Any custom requests beyond this must be discussed between us via Etsy's messenger.

Please allow up to 4 weeks for your doll to be made in order for me to acquire all requested/needed materials. I may send pictures of the work-in-progress periodically.

I can't wait to see what interesting combinations result from custom orders. I was a little nervous at first, even hesitant, to even try custom orders. I have a lot of supplies to make dolls, and made sure to give myself a 4 week grace period to work on the custom dolls in case I needed to buy more materials. But I like the freedom of creating my own dolls. However, I have so many options when creating my dolls now that I figured other people might like to create dolls too. I didn't want to sell the pattern so I decided instead to sell custom dolls. I now think making custom dolls will be a lot of fun. The thought of working one on one with the customer to make his or her own doll is kind of exciting!

I think I should go into further detail about the description:

1) Choose type of doll

Basically, you're choosing your doll's species, or class if you're into Dungeons and Dragons. I have Girl (just a normal human girl), Mermaid, Witch, Cyclops, Demon, Alien, Vampire, or Banshee to choose from. This choice will help me determine things like skin color and face design. These are your choices. Right now I'm not offering fairies or zombies. I may in the future but for now these are the limits of what species your doll can be.

2) Outfit

My dolls come with a huge array of clothing patterns. Each doll usually only dresses a certain way, such as the Cyclops always wearing shorts and a blouse. But if you choose to make a custom doll, all the clothing options are open to you, with the exception of the Mermaids. Only her top is customizable because I can't exactly fit that tail of hers into a mini skirt or capris. This is an important step because the clothes really make the doll. If you want to make an outfit combination such as an Alien wearing a mini skirt with a blouse, shoes, and cape, that's totally possible!

3) Colors/Patterns of clothes

I like patterns. I think that's pretty clear just from seeing all the dolls I've made so far. I have a big collection of felt patterns in a box near my work station. I also have a big collection of colors of felt. Odds are if there's a color or pattern you want for your doll's clothes I either already have it or I can find it. This is the step that requires the 4 week grace period for me to make the doll. If there is a color or pattern that you want and I don't have it I'll have to order it, and that may or may not take up to two weeks. Alternatively, if you don't have an idea in mind for the colors or patterns of the clothes you can always send me a message on Etsy and we can work it out together. I can show you some patterns or colors I already have that you might really like!

4) Hair

Step Four is choosing what type of hair you want the doll to have. I mostly work with acrylic or cotton yarn. You can choose from one of those types as well as the color and I can either buy what you need or I might have some already in my stash. I'll be sure to message you with the yarn to make sure it's alright before it's sewn to the doll's head. We can also decide from one of three hairstyles: long, pigtails, or short. These are the only hairstyles currently available.

5) Skin Tone

The last step is really only relevant to the Girl and Mermaid dolls. Deciding on the skin tone for the doll is a very important step. The other dolls already have their skin tones decided: The Witch is green, the Cyclops is light Pink, the Demon is red, the Alien is purple, the Vampire is white, and the Banshee is light blue. Deciding on the skin tone for the Girl or Mermaid Doll is a very personal decision and I will try to match the color to your desired choice as close as I can.
